Thanks for the great question Dirk! Would be happy to explain.

The article is specifically talking about “music production”. Based on our years of experience, this is a much better route to go for new music producers as it’s a plug and play device. We’ve also explained some other reasons in the article.

Furthermore, audio interfaces ARE actually sounds cards. Here’s a snippet from Wikipedia: “The term sound card is also applied to external audio interfaces used for professional audio applications.”

With that said, there’s probably some room in the article to flesh out these ideas a bit more to get our point across. So I’ve made a note and we will be updating the article to explain this a bit better.
