Celemony: Creator of Melodyne

2018-04-16 By WikiAdmin Leave a Comment

Celemony Software GmbH is a musical software company based in Munich, Germany. Celemony was founded in October 2000 with a focus on digital audio pitch correction software.

Their primary product, Melodyne, is a popular pitch correction tool among record producers in countries throughout the world.

Co-founder Peter Neubäcker worked on this technology for about three years prior to the founding of the company. The other two co-founders are Prof. Dr. Hildegard Sourgens and Carsten Gehle.

Melodyne is primarily used to manipulate and perfectly tune audio signals, but this technology can also be used to time-stretch, rebuild a melody from scratch, or to create backing vocals from a lead vocal recording . This award-winning software was first introduced at the 2001 Winter NAMM Show.
